The Grand Canyon

We just got the pictures * back taken when we were up at the Grand Canyon, in Arizona last month.

Here's one of us with the canyon as a backdrop.

(*using cheap disposable kodaks so the quality is what it is.. sorry )

Nice looking family :-)

I always had wanted to visit Arizona... I hear it's a real "artsy" place. I thought about moving out there, at one stage, when it seemed like it was growing and the opportunities for me would have been good.

But, obviously, I overshot Arizona by just a little ;-)

It's beautiful out there.. and if you avoid Phoenix and Tucson most of the places you go you'll find friendly polite people... amazing ;)

There was an article a while back (when I was in NY) about how Phoenix was really becoming developed, and how a lot of people from Long Island were moving out there because it was more affordable to get a big house, and there were (supposedly) lots of jobs.

Sounds like what Florida promised at one time.

Phoenix is still booming, it's 30miles by 90miles in size.

But it's a desert.. I went down to Phoenix once during a summer while I was living out there 122°F, nearly passed out when I opened the door of the car and the heat hit me.

And the heat's not good for people's tempers.
Prescot's* not bad though
* it's pronounced press-kit, don't aks me why!
